The White Empire Is Imploding And You’re In It
We live within the White Empire, the largest and most rapacious empire in history, which hides in the present. After World War II the mantle of whiteness passed from Europe to America, along with the colonial bases, and American military and financial might engirdled the globe. After the fall of the USSR, they were briefly unchallenged, the first superpower, which I guess is the white word for empire.
Now the empire is challenged (by China), its military might has been shown to be impotent (Afghanistan, Iraq, Ukraine, so on), and its financial power is crashing hard. An empire that can’t fight and whose coin is increasingly worthless won’t last long. When you’re in it seems crazy to predict the fall of any empire, but they all fall. And we’re living through the fall of the big one.
(Rich) people at the imperial core will be the last to feel it, but us on the plantation fringes already know. Sri Lanka, the island where I live, floated on credit from imperial from white banks for decades now, but with COVID et al that credit was withdrawn. Now we can’t buy oil or gas without petrodollars and our western-modeled economy is falling apart. This is chalked up to our darky incompetence, but it’s more than that. We’re just the canaries in the coal mine.
